While contemplating how I could introduce an audience into the essence of my work, I was synchronistically reacquainted with the power of AI and ChatGPT through my partner, Kelly.

After writing a few prompts I quickly found myself intrigued with the program’s efficiency and capacity to expand on topics that are otherwise perceptually challenging. I was on my way to creating an ebook that seemed approachable from the logical sense but lacked the authenticity I craved from the struggle with words and language that freeform writing naturally commands. ChatGPT rendered brainstorming and formatting too easy—and the work did not feel as my own.

However, I do appreciate efficiency and decided that a transparent collaboration could be an interesting approach into the world of self-inquiry via the machinery of artificial intelligence. The exercise was quite emotionally moving actually, and confirmed some intuitions I’ve been feeling towards humanities current relationship with technology and where it may be headed.
